Grade 3 Coding & Robotics Term 3 provides 10 structured, CAPS-aligned unplugged lesson plans that systematically develop Grade 3 learners’ computational thinking, algorithmic thinking, problem-solving and understanding of robotics.
The term focuses on patterns as data, symbolic patterns and robot code, decomposition and modular routes, simple IF–THEN decisions, systematic debugging, robot systems, robot components, input–process–output (IPO), feedback, robot design and safe digital citizenship. Learners read, write, test and improve code while completing practical robot missions and problem-solving activities.
Unplugged: the lessons are designed to be taught without computers, tablets or robotics kits. Practical, physical and paper-based activities make Coding and Robotics accessible in everyday Foundation Phase classrooms.
